For the most part, incidents with police have been minimal involving Florida Football players since Billy Napier arrived in town. Walk-on wide receiver Brian Green Jr. was charged with battery back in April, but beyond that, it has been a quiet offseason for the Gators when it comes to legal troubles.
News broke yesterday however that another member of Florida’s roster is in trouble with the law.
Florida Football: Too Fast
As first reported by Steve Reece of the Monroe County Reporter and confirmed by Swamp247and On3, Michai Boireauwas charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of law enforcement officers, speeding in excess of maximum limits, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Based on police reports, Boireau was pursued by police after driving 86 MPH on I-75. As police attempted to pull Boireau over, he sped up to 150 MPH. He hit another driver during the pursuit and was eventually arrested and released on a $60,000 bond.
Boireau was a three-star prospect who originally committed to Florida in June of 2023. The Hampton, GA native decommitted from the Gators in September of 2023 and took a visit to Georgia that same month. He eventually came back around and recommitted to the Gators in December and signed on National Signing Day.
Boireau enrolled early and took part in spring camp with the Gators.
