How Chelsea Women Have Lined Up Recently
Hannah Hampton and Zecira Musovic share the spoils in goal, the back four has seen some shifts with Eve Perisset, Luzy Bronze, Ashley Lawrence, Sandy Baltimore, Millie Bright, Nathalie Bjorn, and Kadeisha Buchanan all getting starts.
In midfield, Oriane Jean-Francois, Erin Cuthbert, Sjoeke Nusken, and Wieke Kaptein are the main options either for a single or double pivot. Ahead of them is a fairly set crew of Guro Reiten, Maika Hamano, and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd with Mayra Ramirez and Aggie Beever-Jones splitting the striker duties.
Chelsea Women Recent Form and Tactics
Sonia Bompastor has blown away all expectations, winning every single match since making the move from Lyon to replace Emma Hayes. That run includes well-fought wins over top sides Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as an easy win against recent bogey team Liverpool.
Defensively, they look really solid, keeping a clean sheet in one of every two outings and scoring for fun, managing to net 17 times in their last five games. With the squad looking better and better as they acclimatise to a new manager, they’ll be hopeful of extending this undefeated run.
Chelsea Women Injuries to Consider
Following the win over Manchester City the club announced that Buchanan tore her ACL, making her the fifth different player sidelined with an ACL injury. She joins Sam Kerr, Aniek Nouwen, Mia Fishel, and Sophie Ingle in that group. Lauren James and Niamh Charles are also out until the international break at the earliest.
Beever-Jones is also suspended for this one after being sent off in the reverse fixture.
