WNBA stars Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson are expanding their influence beyond the basketball court and into Hollywood. The Chicago Sky forward and Las Vegas Aces superstar will make cameo appearances in GOAT, an upcoming animated movie produced by NBA legend Stephen Curry.
The film features an impressive, star-studded cast that includes Curry himself, Stranger Things standout Caleb McLaughlin, acclaimed actress Gabrielle Union, and music stars Jennifer Hudson and Jelly Roll. With its mix of sports, entertainment, and family-friendly storytelling, GOAT is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated animated releases.
Angel Reese voices a polar bear character named Propp, marking her second film appearance. In 2025, Reese made her acting debut in the thriller A House of Dynamite, signaling her growing presence in the entertainment space. A’ja Wilson lends her voice to Kouyate, a reptile character, adding another exciting dimension to her already decorated résumé.
GOAT follows the journey of Will, a small goat with enormous dreams of playing professional “roarball,” a fast-paced sport filled with some of the fiercest and most skilled players in the world. Despite his size, Will earns an opportunity at the highest level, setting the stage for an inspiring underdog story.
Speaking about the film’s message, Curry emphasized its universal appeal. “It has something in there for every generation,” he told USA TODAY. “We’re bringing something that’s inspiring, something that brings family together, and something that’s uplifting to a lot of different people in the audience.”
With Reese and Wilson joining the project, GOAT highlights the continued rise of women’s basketball stars as cultural icons, proving their impact reaches far beyond the hardwood.
