DURHAM – The 2024 ACC Tournament Champions, Duke baseball, was selected as the No. 2 seed in the Norman, Okla, regional Monday, the selection committee announced. The selection marks the 11th NCAA tournament appearance for the Blue Devils, and the second consecutive appearance.
Regionals will run May 31 through June 3 at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, Okla.
Duke (39-18) is slated to open the regional against No. 3 seed UConn (32-23), while host Oklahoma (37-19) earned the top seed and will open play against Oral Roberts (27-30-1).
The winner of the double-elimination NCAA Regional will advance to a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional, which will run from June 6-8 or 7-9. The Norman Regional winner will face the winner of the Tallahassee Reigonal, which features Florida State, Alabama, UCF and Stetson. The College World Series will be played in Omaha, Neb., from June 14-24.
Head coach Chris Pollard leads the Blue Devils to a regional for a program record sixth time in 12 seasons (2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024), winning the automatic qualifier and ACC Tournament Championship in 2021 and 2024. Prior to arriving at Duke, the Blue Devils had compiled just five NCAA Tournaments (1952, 1953, 1956, 1957 and 1961).
