The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix delivered an exciting contest over 56 laps, with Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli producing a commanding performance to secure first place. The young Italian maintained strong pace throughout the race and ultimately crossed the finish line with a time of 1 hour, 33 minutes, and 15.607 seconds. His victory highlighted Mercedes’ impressive form during the event and marked a notable milestone in Antonelli’s rising Formula 1 career.
Finishing closely behind his teammate, George Russell secured second position for Mercedes, ending the race just 5.515 seconds adrift of Antonelli. Ferrari celebrated a double podium presence, with Lewis Hamilton taking third place after an intense battle on track. Charles Leclerc followed shortly after in fourth position, ensuring Ferrari remained competitive among the frontrunners during the race.
The middle section of the results saw several strong performances from the midfield teams. Oliver Bearman delivered an impressive drive to finish fifth for Haas-Ferrari, while Alpine-Mercedes driver Pierre Gasly crossed the line in sixth. Racing Bulls-Ford’s Liam Lawson claimed seventh position, followed by Isack Hadjar of Red Bull Ford in eighth. Carlos Sainz brought his Williams-Mercedes home in ninth place, while Franco Colapinto rounded out the top ten for Alpine-Mercedes.
Further down the order, drivers such as Nico Hulkenberg for Audi and Arvid Lindblad for Racing Bulls finished just outside the points. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, both racing for Cadillac-Ferrari, also completed the race but finished one lap behind the leaders. Esteban Ocon, representing Haas-Ferrari, similarly concluded the race outside the points after a steady but uneventful run.
The race also saw several retirements and non-starters that affected the final classification. Max Verstappen was forced to retire after completing 45 laps, while Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll both failed to reach the finish due to mechanical problems with their Aston Martin-Mercedes cars. Meanwhile, McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were unable to start due to power unit issues, and technical troubles also prevented Gabriel Bortoleto and Alexander Albon from taking part. Despite the setbacks for several teams, Antonelli’s fastest lap of 1:35.275 on lap 52 capped off a dominant performance that defined the race weekend.
