One surprise club has come in for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah yesterday but there is a sticking point that has hindered any potential move.
Chelsea are trying to move Chalobah out before the end of the transfer window later this week, but there just hasn’t been any seriously interested clubs to come in and sign him. We’ve heard hardly any news at all about any advancements from clubs to sign him, which will be concerning for Chelsea.
Chalobah has a long contract and any move will be down to him, the ball is firmly in his court. However, he has been training with the U21s all summer after being left out of Chelsea’s preseason tour of the USA. It’s clear Chelsea have been physically pushing him out of the club. But for any club to sell a player, they need suitors, and they also need said player to actually want to go there.
But surely Chalobah will not want to just rot in the reserves this season? Because that appears to be the way it is heading right now.
Atalanta keen on Chalobah
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A side Atalanta has made an attempt for Trevoh Chalobah. However, the negotiation is difficult due to the high salary that he receives at Chelsea and also the figures requested by the Blues.
So it sounds like this one might be over even before it has started. And to be honest, I don’t even think that Chalobah would be interested in such a move.
