Chelsea are trying to resolve the Conor Gallagher situation this weekend, and it looks like we might actually succeed in that regard.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Gallagher has held “positive talks” with Atlético Madrid on Saturday and there’s confidence from both sides that they can get a deal done. Chelsea have already accepted a transfer offer from Atléti worth around €40m.
Of course we don’t really know what “positive talks” actually means, and the usual sources in Spain don’t mention anything about any such thing either. So it could be a whole lot of nothing, or it could be that the wheels are indeed starting to move.
If it’s the latter, it would surely benefit all parties involved. As much as Chelsea have not handled this situation all that well, at the end of the day, finding the right solution to make everyone happy, as Enzo Maresca put it on Friday, should be the desired outcome by all.
