Bayern Munich are rivalling Liverpool and Newcastle United in a bid to sign Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Vincent Kompany will look to make Trafford a “priority”, sources say, after being confirmed as the Bundesliga giants’ new manager. Trafford has drawn the attention of several top clubs following the Clarets’ relegation to the Championship, with the Lancashire club placing a price tag of around £20million on his head.

Trafford could be heading to Germany for the European Championships this summer after Gareth Southgate named the goalkeeper in his training squad ahead of the tournament. The goalkeeper had an underwhelming first campaign with Burnley after being dropped for the final 10 games of the season, having kept just two clean sheets in 28 Premier League appearances.
That hasn’t stopped Kompany registering an interest in taking his former stopper to Bayern with him this summer.
