The Atlanta Braves added some depth off the bench after the club signed veteran Brian Anderson to a major league deal on Tuesday. Over the weekend, 31-year-old Anderson opted out of a minor league deal with the Seattle Mariners.

Anderson has spent the bulk of his career in Miami, where he split time between third base and right field. He owns a career .252 batting average and will be used primarily as infield depth.
To make room on the 40-man, Tyler Matzek was transferred to the 60-day injured list.
