The Denver Broncos announced on Friday that edge rusher has been ruled out, which wasn’t unexpected. The fourth-year edge rusher missed practice all week due to a foot injury he sustained during the Broncos’ 13-6 loss to Pittsburgh last Sunday.
A sign of his potential absence came on Wednesday when the team promoted practice-squad edge rusher to the active roster. This move filled the spot vacated by him who was placed on injured reserve with a sprained MCL.
He had a standout season in the United Football League in 2024, having also played for them in 2023. With him out, third-year player is expected to return to the starting lineup, and third-round pick will take on a bigger role, especially as the Broncos plan to rotate their edge rushers heavily in the humid conditions.
He has been a great addition and is performing well for us, including on special teams. He is doing the same,” said Broncos coach Sean Payton. “We have strong confidence in him and know exactly what he brings to the team.”
He isn’t the only Bronco sidelined, who has been a key player on special teams, is also out due to an ankle injury.
On the other side, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ruled out three starters: right tacklehim, defensive lineman , and cornerback Defensive tackle Vita Vea is listed as doubtful after limited practice on Friday. The absences of him leave the Buccaneers’ defensive front weakened, potentially giving the Broncos’ struggling offensive line a chance to improve after a challenging start to the season.
