This isn’t the first time Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, has attended a major college football game. He has previously been present at Alabama games and some national championship matches as well. This weekend, he’s set to be at one of the biggest games of the college football season, coinciding with his efforts to connect with young voters just months before the presidential election.
So, how does Alabama’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer, feel about Trump’s attendance at Saturday’s game? He described it with one word: “cool.”
DeBoer, who previously coached the Washington Huskies, welcomes the presence of high-profile individuals at his team’s games, seeing it as a positive.
“I’m sure there will be many celebrity guests here,” he noted.
“People want to be part of the game day experience. Everyone’s watching, so it’s great to have anyone who wants to come out. I told the players that with College GameDay and everything else happening, the focus should be on preparing to play their best game of the year.
I always challenge them to play the best game of their careers. That’s what’s important for us to control. But it is exciting to have so many people wanting to join in on the atmosphere and contribute to the energy of the game.”
It promises to be an entertaining night.
