On Friday’s episode of the “GoJo and Golic” podcast, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James shared his experience training with his son, Bronny, for the first time. He admitted he found himself distracted at times while watching Bronny during their practice.
“This week, we hit the gym together, and it was the first time we were on the court as professionals, training and competing against each other in preparation for the season,” James said. “There were moments when I lost focus, which is unusual for me. I caught myself looking over and just watching him work hard. It’s going to be an incredible year for both of us.”
James also mentioned whether Bronny has followed his request not to call him “dad” while on the court. “He hasn’t said anything yet,” James noted. “I’ve been listening closely, waiting for that moment. I know it’ll happen eventually, and I’m curious to see what he’ll call me.”
Bronny was selected by the Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, making them the first father-son duo to play in the league at the same time.
