The young defenseman Logan Mailloux admitted to being upset by a decision made by the Montreal Canadiens.
However, he has the right attitude and fully intends to push the Canadiens’ management to change their minds.
“Did being associated with the AHL group yesterday bother you?”
‘Yes, definitely.’
‘I don’t think it’s that big of a deal because I’m still here, but to be honest, I want to be paired with the best players every day.’
Hats off to Mailloux for his honesty, and for his response to the situation. Instead of simply expressing his disagreement with the decision, he wants to take action to improve his own situation.
Logan Mailloux doesn’t want to stay with the AHL group and wants to push Kent Hughes to have him start in the NHL from the beginning of the season
It must be admitted that Justin Barron had a significant advantage, simply due to his contract situation.
It seems to be a competition between two other young players. Marc Antoine Godin suggests it’s between Arber Xhekaj and Logan Mailloux:
A big story to watch in the coming week.
At 21 years old, Logan Mailloux is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed defenseman. He was the 31st overall pick by the Canadiens in the 2021 NHL Draft (first round) and recorded 47 points in 72 games last season with the Laval Rocket.
