The Cincinnati Bengals typically avoid trade discussions with other teams before the deadline. Their last trade after the season started was in October 2011, when they sent unhappy quarterback to the Raiders. Before that, you’d have to go back to 1972.
Given this history, it seems unlikely that the Bengals will pursue any trades before the November 4 deadline. However, ESPN’s Dan Graziano suggests that the Bengals could be a good fit for Broncos defense if Denver decides to move him.
He, who signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Broncos before the 2022 season, is in the final year of his deal. With the Broncos not looking very competitive in the AFC West, they might consider trading him and his $10 million salary this season.
Graziano notes that since he will turn 30 in January, he might not be a candidate for a long-term deal with a new team, but he could be valuable as a short-term rental for a contender.
The Bengals are currently dealing with injuries at the defensive tackle position; both starters, Sheldon Rankins and BJ Hill, left the Week 2 game with hamstring injuries, leading the team to sign Lawrence Guy to bolster their defensive line.
Bringing in another player like Jones could be beneficial, especially if the Bengals continue to face challenges stopping the run as the season progresses.
What are your thoughts on the possibility of trading for Jones?
