The Denver Broncos will return to practice on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Following Tyler Badie’s injury last Sunday, the team signed former Miami Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed to their practice squad.
Ahmed has played in 38 regular-season games over four seasons with Miami, starting in four and accumulating 163 carries for 593 yards (3.6 yards per carry) and five touchdowns.
To make room for Ahmed, the Broncos released wide receiver Kaden Davis, who had recently joined the practice squad. Currently, the running back roster includes Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, Blake Watson, and Badie. Badie’s status remains uncertain, but a decision may be forthcoming.
“He didn’t return with the team but came back later that evening,” said head coach Sean Payton. “We’re still assessing him, and he’s improving. We appreciate the concerns and are glad he was able to come back before the day ended.”
The team’s priority is Badie’s health, and they will evaluate their options as more information about his recovery becomes available. For now, Ahmed joins the practice squad.
