Notre Dame football fulfilled all ‘expectations’ of top WR target
The Notre Dame football team is trying to revive its wide receiver recruiting and it took a big step towards that
While the Notre Dame football team was busy beating the Louisville Cardinals 31-24, they were also rolling out the red carpet for several of its top recruit including quarterback commit Noah Grubbs and wide receiver target Isaiah Mizell.
Grubbs was already sold, though he had to like what he saw from a passing offense that’s getting better. Mizell is another story. He’s a target the team hopes it can revive what has been a failed approach to receiver recruiting this summer.
As far as Notre Dame football is concerned, the approach went about as well as they could have hoped.
“It was a really good weekend,” the 2025 Florida receiver, who is currently committed to Arizona told Irish Sports Daily. “All of my expectations were fulfilled, so I’ve got a couple things to think about these next couple weeks.”
Notre Dame football gives WR target something to think about
One of the things that has long stood out to Mizell is how big Notre Dame is. It’s statue is clearly one of its big selling points. While Arizona is a Power 4 team in the Big 12, it appears he thinks of the Fighting Irish as being on a different level.
“It being such a big-time school, I was expecting the gameday to be very, very big, very, very loud, very, very live and it lived up to all expectations,” Mizell added.
“They had traditions,” he said. “They were tossing people up, doing pushups. I’ve never seen that before. Everybody was in green paint. It was raining, but everybody stayed loud.”
While the wide receiver isn’t saying where he’s leaning one way or the other at the moment, it feels as though Notre Dame football needed to do to get him to flip from the Wildcats. Now it’s about waiting for the 3-star prospect to make it official.
