After Colt McCoy’s departure from the program in 2010, the Texas Longhorns spent the better part of the next decade searching for a quarterback that could help it return to national contention.
In Steve Sarkisian’s second year as the head coach at Texas, he was able to land former perfectly rated quarterback recruit and Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers. While Ewers’ first season was full of growing pains, he led Texas to a Big 12 title and the College Football Playoff in 2023. Not to mention, the Longhorns also landed five-star Arch Manning as his heir to Ewers’ throne as a part of the 2023 recruiting class. Being the elite quarterback recruiter he is, Sarkisian already has another five-star lined up and is set to join the fold in 2026 signal caller Dia Bell.
The son of former NBA star Raja Bell headlines Texas’ three-man 2026 class, and is already following in the footsteps of elite players who have come before him. Earlier this week Bell took to social media to announce he will be playing in the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game.
