We just received excellent news about Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine.
According to journalist Arpon Basu from The Athletic, Laine has officially ditched his knee brace.
Patrik Laine walked past me heading toward the press box, and the massive brace he wore on his leg is now gone. He wasn’t even walking with much of a limp.

This is fantastic news and truly impressive.
It seems he’s genuinely moving closer to a potential return to play.
Let’s remember that about a month ago, the organization announced he would miss 2 to 3 months of action.
So, we shouldn’t expect him back in just a few days, despite this great news, but we can hope he’ll be closer to the 2-month timeline rather than 3.
At age 26, Patrik Laine recorded 9 points in 18 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and he has accumulated 388 points (204 goals) in 480 career NHL games.
It looks like we can realistically hope to see him back in uniform in about 3-4 weeks.
However, it’ll be interesting to monitor his eventual return to the ice.
Let’s remember Patrik Laine was injured in the preseason against the Toronto Maple Leafs after a knee on knee collision with Cedric Pare.
