This summer, Logan Mailloux was linked to several trade rumors, especially regarding the Anaheim Ducks and Trevor Zegras. However, Kent Hughes decided against trading him, believing that Mailloux is integral to the team’s future.
In light of this, Mailloux expressed his strong desire to remain with the Montreal Canadiens for the long haul. When asked by Martin McGuire about the trade speculations, the tall right-handed defenseman stated:
“I want to play here for my whole career. I love the fans, the people, the staff, and my teammates. It’s incredible here, and I want to stay for my entire career.”
His intentions couldn’t be clearer.
Despite the controversy surrounding his selection at the end of the first round in 2021, Mailloux has moved past that chapter and is fully committed to the Canadiens. This fall, he will be competing for a regular spot on the team, facing stiff competition from other right-side defensemen like David Reinbacher and Justin Barron.
