Atletico Madrid have already secured two big signings this summer with defender Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth arriving.
Diego Simeone’s men have raided La Liga rivals Real Sociedad and Villarreal respectively but are now set to land two major Premier League additions.
Atletico sources have confirmed to HITC that Julian Alvarez and Conor Gallagher are both due in Spain for their medicals to complete their moves from the Premier League.
HITC revealed Chelsea midfielder Gallagher had agreed terms with Atletico last week, but his deal was delayed by both Alvarez and the impending exit of striker Samu Omorodion to Chelsea.
We confirmed on Monday that Atletico were confident about finalising a deal for Manchester City forward Alvarez and now terms are fully agreed after personal terms were initially agreed in principle.
Arsenal showed an interest in Alvarez but he is now set for Atletico.
The third deal involving striker Samu is now on the brink of being finalised too and HITC understands personal terms have been agreed.
Only the final details between Atletico and Chelsea are now left to be finalised, but the deal is advanced enough for Gallagher to have finally been given permission to travel the Spanish capital.
Atletico sources have told HITC that they want both deals confirmed and announced before the weekend.
Who is Chelsea target Samu Omorodion?
Chelsea snapped up a La Liga striker last summer as Nicolas Jackson came in from Villarreal and they are ready to repeat the trick.
Omorodion – who often goes by ‘Samu’ – hails from Melilla, an autonomous Spanish city based in North Africa.
The early years of Samu’s career came in Andalusia having moved to Seville at a young age.
Spells with Sevilla and AD Nervion followed before Samu joined the Granada ranks.
One goal in one senior game was enough for Atletico to pounce last summer, but they loaned Samu straight on to Alaves.
The Spain youth international – who is also eligible to play for Nigeria – racked up eight goals in 34 La Liga games last season.
Still only 20, Samu is a huge presence at 6ft 4in and showed enough potential in Spain last season to spark Chelsea’s interest.
HITC understands that West Ham United were even keen on Samu earlier in the window.
Samu is now ready to become the latest young talent to join the Stamford Bridge ranks whilst Gallagher prepares to complete a move in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, HITC understands that another young forward, David Datro Fofana, has been made available by Chelsea.
