Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have certainly been busy in the summer transfer window with the club hoping to bounce back under the Italian manager.
Chelsea have made a plethora of signings this summer to try and close the gap and maybe break into the top four.
Enzo Maresca has been busy this summer with Chelsea signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, as well as a plethora of younger players to try and flesh out the squad.
A new goalkeeper looks to be on the cards with Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen closing in on a Chelsea move. However, another shot-stopper could well be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea close in on Mike Penders deal
According to a post on X from Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Chelsea are close to reaching a full agreement with KRC Genk to sign goalkeeper Mike Penders.

Tavolieri claims that the Blues have made a £17 million offer for the Belgian and they are closing in on a deal for the shot-stopper.
The two sides are working on a deal for the 18-year-old goalkeeper, although there is an ‘agreement in principle’ in place with those in charge at BlueCo.
Part of that agreement for Penders would see the Belgian not move to Stamford Bridge immediately but instead to Chelsea’s sister club, French side RC Strasbourg.
This would be the latest in a long line of teenage talent to move to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to hoover up talent from across Europe and South America.
Chelsea are closing in on defender Aaron Anselmino and have already signed Willian Estevao as they continue their youthful approach.
Penders could follow in Thibaut Courtois’ footsteps
The signing of the teenage goalkeeper wouldn’t be the first time that the Blues have signed a young and promising Belgian shot-stopper.
Thibaut Courtois made a fantastic impact at Chelsea before Real Madrid and you would imagine that the club are hopeful that Penders could repeat the trick.
However, Penders may well have to bide his time with the Blues closing in on a deal for the Danish goalkeeper Jorgensen, who is set to be the club’s new number one.
