Chelsea have had a busy summer transfer window as manager Enzo Maresca has added several top talents to the squad.
Filip Jorgensen is the latest arrival at Stamford Bridge from Villarreal after Omari Kellyman, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Renato Veiga.
But the Blues’ transfer business is far from over as they have entered the race for Celtic star Matt O’Riley, per The Sun.
Conor Gallagher is expected to leave Chelsea soon after the club agreed to sell him to Atletico Madrid for £34 million.
The England international is reportedly not willing to leave his boyhood club but the West Londoners look intent on selling the midfielder whose contract will expire in 2025.
Enzo Maresca’s side have identified Matt O’Riley as a potential replacement for Gallagher.
The 23-year-old has been earning rave reviews with his performances in Scotland. In 49 appearances across all competitions last season, he scored 19 goals and contributed 18 assists for the Bhoys.
Celtic recently turned down a £14 million bid from newly promoted Southampton, while Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion are also said to be his long-term admirers.
It is said that Celtic may demand more than £20m to let the prized asset leave in the ongoing transfer window.
O’Riley is contracted with the Scottish giants until 2027 and boss Brendan Rodgers is adamant the 23-year-old will be going nowhere until his asking fee is met.
