According to reports in Germany, primarily Bild (via Metro), Chelsea are “planning” on making an approach with Borussia Dortmund for 22-year-old forward Karim Adeyemi.
They claim that we have been pulling his agent for chats already, but now we’re thinking about closing things off and making things exclusive. Juventus, and probably a few others, are reportedly in the picture as well, and no one likes triangles.
We might remember the speedy Adeyemi scoring Dortmund’s only goal against us in last season’s Round of 16. That feels like a lifetime ago, but was in fact less than 18 months ago. But that’s good (for us), because it means that Adeyemi is still also quite young, just 22. He did have a bit of a down year last season, with just five goals in all competitions (after nine in the previous campaign) and missing a couple months over the winter with a severe ankle sprain.
BVB are said to value him at a relatively low €30m (£25m).
