One Chelsea player has now bizarrely pulled from his international squad after being pictured within the camp earlier in the day.
As we enter another round of international matches, the third we have had already this season which lets face it, is just ridiculous after only 11 league games played.
We are now seeing the effect of having so many international games to play during a domestic season, because England have lost a massive EIGHT players from their squad yesterday, all withdrawing through injury.
Two of them were Chelsea player, Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer.
I exclusively reported first thing yesterday on my Substack site that Chelsea were trying to pull Cole Palmer from the England squad due to the knock he took in the Manchester United game. Although not a serious injury, and he also played a full 90 minutes against Arsenal afterwards, Chelsea wanted Palmer to fully recover.
I was shocked to see Palmer turn up for England duty yesterday
England posted the above image of Palmer arriving for England duty in the camp yesterday, and I was very surprised to see this, given the information I was handed earlier in the day.
Then the news I expected came in, and Chelsea officially confirmed that both Palmer and Colwill had withdrawn from the England squad.
I also understand Colwill’s injury is nothing more than just a little niggle as well and is nothing bad, but Chelsea are just being cautious and protecting the two players and needing them to not play any more games in this period and rest.
And it seems that Chelsea are not the only club’s thinking like this with as I said, eight more players being pulled from the England squad yesterday.
Perhaps the powers that be might need to re-think the crazy amount of international matches being thrown into domestic seasons?
