It’s been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge with another change of manager, whilst the Blues have already signed seven new players with goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and teenager Aaron Anselmino very close to completing their moves to the club.
It’s not just about incomings though, and the Blues have got an oversized squad and are looking to offload a number of players before the end of the window.
Chelsea will sell Broja, Casadei and Datro Fofana if they receive acceptable offers.
Things have been much slower on the outgoings front with the only notable sales Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson, whilst the club will also be grateful to have Malang Sarr’s wages off the books.
The Blues are currently on their pre-season tour of America and a sizeable group have been left behind at Cobham with the club desperately seeking solutions for their futures.
Chelsea have been trying to offload Romelu Lukaku for the past couple of seasons, and the Belgian wants to join Napoli, but that depends on Victor Osimhen leaving, whilst the club are also determined to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the 29-year-old holding out for a return to Real Madrid.
The Athletic have provided an update on outgoings at Chelsea and they have reported that the Blues will sell Broja, Datro Fofana and Casadei if they receive acceptable offers.
It’s unclear what offers would be deemed acceptable but Broja has attracted interest from the likes of Everton and AC Milan, whilst Fiorentina are monitoring Casadei’s situation.
Datro Fofana spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley and is also likely to have some suitors, with the Blues likely make a profit on their initial investment, which would also be the same with Casadei.
Chelsea need to think carefully as there are only a limited amount of international loan spots, so if they can offload players on a permanent basis that would be preferable as right now there are simply too many players on the books.
