Normally reserved for the last vestiges of summer, September’s been a bit of an icey freeze at Stamford Bridge, with Cole Palmer scoring for fun and making a bit of history in the process.
The 22-year-old became the first player in the Premier League’s 30-year history to score four goals in the first-half, but it wasn’t just in that game against Brighton that he shined brightly. Palmer also scored against West Ham and assisted our only goal against Crystal Palace to round out a truly stellar month: 4 games, 3 wins,5 goals, 1 assist.
The new ice age?
For his efforts, Palmer has been nominated once again for the league’s Player of the Month award. Unlike last month, he should have a realistic chance of winning this one.

Palmer also got a Goal of the Month nomination, for that ridiculous free kick against Brighton: 30 yards out; top bins. Jaws on the floor. Unstoppable, unsaveable.
You can vote for that here. (Palmer won this last month as well, for that volley against Wolves.)
Sit back, relax and enjoy watching the nominees for September's Guinness Goal of the Month award!

And last but certainly not least, new boss Enzo Maresca has been nominated for Manager of the Month after leading Chelsea to three wins and an (unfortunate) draw in September.
Maresca is the first Chelsea manager to be up for this award since Thomas Tuchel three years ago, in 2021.
Congrats, Enzo!
