Hazard was an elite performer in the Premier League for many years, scoring some delightful goals at Stamford Bridge and becoming established as an all-time great for the Blues during his time there, before an ill-fated spell at Real Madrid and then an early retirement.
Still, Salah was also briefly on Chelsea’s books, though it didn’t work out for the Egypt international there, and he later ended up at Liverpool after spells with Fiorentina and Roma in Serie A.
Chelsea must regret not giving Salah more of a chance as he has ended up becoming an all-time great for Liverpool, really raising his game a few years after failing to make it at Chelsea.

Hazard and Salah are certainly up there with the best wingers we’ve seen in the Premier League, and everyone will have their own opinion about who was better during the peak of their powers.
While Salah is more of a prolific goal-scorer and perhaps more generally consistent, he also doesn’t quite have that same flair that Hazard used to show when he was really on his game.
Let’s be honest, there isn’t a lot between them, and these debates can sometimes get a bit tired, just like the Messi-Ronaldo debate – why not just enjoy both brilliant footballers and the different ways they manage to influence games time and time again?
In general, there’s no doubt the joke is on Chelsea here more than anyone else, as losing Salah has to be up there with the biggest transfer blunders of recent history…that, and losing Kevin De Bruyne, who left Chelsea at a similar time and, like Salah, is now one of the finest to play in this country, but for one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals.
