Enzo Maresca is a big admirer of Leicester City’s Mads Hermansen according to journalist Tom Collomosse, with the Blues known to be in the marker for a new goalkeeper.
It’s been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge so far with six new arrivals coming through the door, but Chelsea are expected to do more business.
The club head off to America on their pre-season tour on Monday, but are still believed to be in the market for a goalkeeper, striker and winger ahead of the new campaign.
Maresca an admirer of Hermansen
Chelsea were reportedly interested in bringing in a new keeper earlier this summer, but those links went cold, until it was reported last week the club would be entering the market for a new shot stopper.
The Blues only signed Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic last summer, but it appears they are looking for someone more suited to Maresca’s style with good distribution a key factor.
Sanchez had a difficult debut campaign and after a solid enough start he made a number of errors and was eventually replaced by Petrovic after getting injured in December and never got his place back, but he’s expected to start the season as Chelsea’s number one.
Petrovic impressed following his arrival from the MLS, but his attributes don’t exactly suit what Maresca is looking for, and the Blues reportedly offered him to Italian side Genoa, but they deemed the 24-year-old too expensive.
However, Collomosse has reported that Maresca is a big admirer of Hermansen who he signed for Leicester last summer with the Dane valued at around £45m.
🔵 Along with Dewsbury-Hall, Enzo Maresca also a *big* admirer of Hermansen, as #lcfc fans know well.
🔵 Unclear whether admiration will develop into anything more solid but Danish goalkeeper is valued at about £45m

Hermansen, who is yet to be capped by Denmark made 44 appearances in the Championship last season and kept 13 clean sheets as the Foxes won the title and promotion back to the Premier League.
A move for Hermansen makes sense in theory as he’s a player Maresca knows and is also someone who is well versed in how the Italian wants to play.
Sanchez and Petrovic will be assessed in pre-season to see how they adapt to Maresca’s way of playing, and the Blues have also been linked with James Trafford, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Filip Jorgensen.
