Italian champions Inter Milan are weighing up a move for defender Benoit Badiashile next summer according to reports in Italy.
Badiashile has featured sparingly for the Blues this season and is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old has seen his minutes limited to the Carabao Cup and Europa Conference League with Enzo Maresca going with Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana as his first choice defensive pairing.
Inter eye move for Badiashile in 2025
Badiashile arrived at Stamford Bridge from French side Monaco in January 2023 and signed a contract with the Blues until 2030.
The Frenchman really impressed in his first six months as he settled seamlessly into a struggling Chelsea side with a series of calm and composed performances.
Unfortunately for Badiashile he picked up a long term injury at the back end of the 2022/2023 campaign which ruled him out for several months and he’s really struggled to recapture that form as he made a series of individual errors, and he simply doesn’t look like the player he was before.
Barring injuries it seems Badiashile will really struggle to get minutes in the league and his opportunities will be limited to the cup competitions, with it unclear how he feels about that.
A lack of minutes is bound to lead to speculation over his future and Italian outlet Calciomercato. It have reported that Inter are keeping an eye on the situation.
The report adds that Inter are looking for a new defender with both Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi out of contract next summer and they have identified Badiashile as a possible target.
Badiashile could reportedly be available for just €20m, which would see Chelsea take a loss on the player, with his value going down as he simply isn’t playing.
There’s likely to be movement in the centre back department at Chelsea over the next couple of windows, with the Blues reportedly keeping an eye on both Castello Lukeba and Tomas Araujo, which means the likes of Badiashile and Axel Disasi could be in trouble.
