Chelsea have reportedly opened talks and are now pushing to try and sign a new winger this summer according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano posted the latest on this one on his X account last night, and it seems that Chelsea are trying to bring in another top talent.
But as is the way at Chelsea right now, they are looking at players for the future, and this next one is certainly one for the future.
Fabrizio Romano reports: ‘Chelsea have a genuine interest in Gremio talent Gabriel Mec. He’s considered as one more gem from Brazil; Chelsea have opened talks to understand deal conditions. Born in 2008, Gabriel Mec is appreciated by many clubs but Chelsea are pushing.’
Mec is just 16-years-old but it yet another top young talent out of South America. Chelsea have been snapping up many of the top young players out of that continent recently, and it looks like they are trying to bring in Mec now as well.
Chelsea will be set for years

With the amount of young rising stars that Chelsea are buying in recent times means that they should now be set for years with the squad, and should have a good future ahead.
But there are so many talents now signed by Chelsea, they of course will not all make it, and some of them wont ever play for the Chelsea senior squad. These players will then be spun for a bit of profit, or at least that is going to be the hope for the Chelsea owners.
It’s a risky strategy, but it could end up paying off in the long term. Chelsea fans will only buy into it though, if they are also winning in the short term, and time will tell if they can do that or not.
