Figures at Manchester United sense Chelsea may make an approach for Jadon Sancho before the window closes according to The Athletic.
It’s been another busy summer for the Blues who have signed a number of players and heavily invested in the squad once again.
The arrival of Pedro Neto is set to be followed by Joao Felix, whilst a move for Victor Osimhen is still on the cards although Chelsea are only interested in a loan deal at this stage.
Chelsea to make Sancho approach?
Chelsea are set for a busy end to the window with outgoings a major priority as they look to reduce the size of Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Business has picked up over the last few days and Conor Gallagher is finally set to complete his move to Atletico Madrid imminently, but the Blues still need to move on the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
In terms of incomings the only position the club really need to fill is at centre forward so it may come as surprise to supporters that The Athletic have reported that some figures at United sense that the Blues might make an approach for Sancho.
The report adds that United are asking for around £40m but his wages could be an issue, with French giants Paris Saint Germain previously holding an interest.
It doesn’t make any sense for Chelsea to make an approach for Sancho given the amount of attacking options they have and even if Raheem Sterling leaves the arrival of Felix covers that place in the squad not to mention Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk are on the books.
We should know by now almost anything is possible when it comes to Chelsea and the transfer market but a move for Sancho would be a turn up for the books and totally unexpected.
