The former basketball star is collaborating with Digital Epic Studio, marking a clear move beyond sports and into creative storytelling across multiple media platforms.
The partnership is designed to develop animated content for film, television, digital platforms, and branded projects, spanning both short-form and long-form formats. Digital Epic Studio, which was founded in 2019 and is led by creative director Ahmad Hamass, brings production expertise to the table, while McCoughtry Entertainment will guide the creative vision behind the projects. Together, the companies aim to build a diverse animation slate that reflects flexibility in style, format, and audience reach.
According to the partners, the development lineup already includes a full-length animated feature, a series of animated shorts, and content specifically designed for digital platforms. McCoughtry Entertainment emphasized that the goal is to create animation that connects with audiences wherever they are, adapting to different creative visions and distribution channels without being confined to a single format or genre.
McCoughtry’s move into animation builds on her growing presence in film and media. The two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time WNBA All-Star is also preparing for her feature directorial debut, a thriller titled Apt 6B. In addition, her first short film is set to premiere on Amazon, signaling a steady expansion of her creative portfolio.
