The San Francisco Giants may be delivering the greatest bobblehead doll giveaway of all time.
The Giants on Sunday are planning to give out bobblehead dolls of first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. to the first 20,000 fans in attendance for the team’s home game against the New York Yankees. The doll commemorates the 100th “splash hit” at Oracle Park, which was delivered by Wade. Splash hits are ones that go over the tall right field wall at the park and land in the bay, which is affectionately called “McCovey Cove.”
The doll shows Wade in a powerful pose after hitting a ball, and standing in front of the right field wall. The best part is the doll comes equipped with water cannons that can spray water, which fits perfectly with the “splash hit” theme.
KNBR engineer Darren Chan shared a video of the water cannons in action:
This bobblehead is so cool, it deserves a plug. Wade 100th splash hit… with actual operating water cannons!

Now that is cool.
Unfortunately, Wade left Monday’s game with a hamstring injury, so he won’t be in the lineup on the day of his bobblehead giveaway. But that shouldn’t stop fans from enjoying a truly great souvenir.
The 30-year-old Wade is batting .333 with a .470 on-base percentage in 52 games this season.
