“I’ve always been someone who has to lead by example, especially with me,” running back and graduate student Chez Mellusi said of the Badgers.
Leadership key as Badgers head to Platteville for fall camp
If there is one word that has been said many many times by head coach Luke Fickell and the rest of the gang, that word is “leadership.”
“I think a lot of guys have stepped up in need to step up going into the season, myself included, and serving every chance you get to say something to the boys and to be that leader,” Badgers senior safety Hunter Wohler said. “Like we have to take it for we’re gonna you know, make the steps that we want to make and go where we want to go and everyone’s gonna have to step up and be a leader not just myself but the whole team.”
“If my goal is for the team to win for us and you have a good defense for us have you good team, there’s a lot more that goes into it,” Badger senior linebacker Jake Chaney said. “And you know, just the word leadership you know, there’s a lot more time a lot more care a lot more love going around.”
“With me especially you know, I’ve always been someone that has to lead by example,” Badger grad student running back Chez Mellusi said. “The next step for me is leading with my voice but for me, I know that in order for me to be the best version of myself and the best leader I know that the produce and be on the football field, so yeah, with time but at the end of the day, I know when I’m on the football field I am I’m one of the best leaders.”
