One player has been explaining why he quit his club to join Chelsea this summer transfer window and has shut down one rumour that was going around about it.
Chelsea have signed quite a few new players this window, and some of them have been heavily involved in pre-season already.
There is a decision to be made on striker Marc Guiu and whether he will be staying in the Chelsea first team this season or whether he will be going on out loan for his development. But he chose to join Chelsea’s project this summer and leave the mighty Barcelona.
When he left there was some rumours suggesting it was money orientated, but the youngster has shut that down.
Guiu dreamt of the Premier League
Guiu denied reports in Spain that it was partly motivated by money and said: “It was not an issue with my contract.
“I’ve always dreamt of playing in the Premier League and Chelsea is a great club with a lot of history.
“It was a tough decision but it was an amazing opportunity, so I had to go for it.”
It was a big decision for him to make and you have to admire that he has shown some guts and taken a bit of a risk with the move. Most players dream of playing for Barcelona, so it’s actually refreshing to hear something different for once and that Guiu was keen on the Premier League and joining Chelsea!
