According to ESPN FPI, the Wildcats have the fourth-toughest schedule in all of college football next season. The only three teams ahead of them are the Florida Gators, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Georgia Bulldogs, while the Auburn Tigers round out the top five.
The Wildcats face ranked SEC teams in all four of their road trips, Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Florida, all of whom are in the top 25. They also host No. 1 ranked Georgia and Auburn and their in-state, out-of-conference rival, No. 21 Louisville.
The SEC continues to dominate the college football landscape. Nine of the top 10 toughest schedules belong to SEC teams, the lone exception being No. 9, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
With Texas and Oklahoma now in the fold, the SEC is strengthening its stranglehold on college football, and Kentucky is right in the middle of it. The Wildcats are coming off back-to-back 7-6 seasons but are just two years removed from the 2021 10-win season, a program best.
