Paul George was the biggest name to change locations this NBA offseason when he fled the Los Angeles Clippers to team up with Joel Embiid with the Philadelphia 76ers as he continues to pursue an NBA Championship.
It wasn’t the most surprising move, but the Clippers did make a strong push to keep PG, which apparently wasn’t enough to overcome the pitch that actor Kevin Hart made to lure him out East.
Hart recently sat down with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks and revealed how he relentlessly texted Paul George a bunch of “Kevin Hart-type s***.” about how cool it would be to have him in Philly, including hyping up the cheesesteaks and reminding him that it’s the city of brotherly love.

Hart joked that this strategy may have cost the Sixers in the past and other deals might have fallen through due to him being annoying, though he apparently did this with James Harden as well, but that one worked out.
George reportedly chose Philly because the Clippers weren’t offering him a guaranteed fourth year in his contract, and in recent episodes of his podcast, he has mentioned how being with the Clippers always felt like playing for LA’s B-team.
Philly is officially all in to maximize the championship window it has with Joel Embiid, who is now 30 years old and still hasn’t made it to a Conference Finals after going through yet another injury in this past postseason.
PG and Embiid will be a fun duo to watch regardless, and we all have Kevin Hart to thank for it.
