Kevvie’s amusing remark in response to her son’s “fake fans” comments was, “That was great.”
Kevin Walters has delivered a hilarious response to his son Billy’s staunch defence of the Broncos coach ahead of the club’s must-win clash against the Eels on Friday night.
Earlier this week, Walters Jr took a shot at Brisbane’s “fake fans” who have questioned whether Kevin is the right man for the job amid an extremely underwhelming 2024 campaign from the Broncos.
“It’s pretty red hot from a few, I suppose, fake fans to say Kevvie’s not the right man for the job,” Billy Walters told reporters on Tuesday.

When asked about his son’s comments, the Broncos coach had a terrific one-liner.
“You’d expect that from your son, wouldn’t you? That’s what you expect. That was great from Bill. That’s why he’s in the team again this week,” Walters said.
Walters went onto say that he wasn’t upset that some Broncos fans would like him gone.
“They’re fans of the game. There’s lots of people in the world that don’t like the Broncos and we appreciate that,” he said.
“There’s more people though that do like the Broncos and that’s what I get excited about, for our fans and the way their continual support has been amazing this year.
“We’ve got more members and more fans than any other club, so obviously on the flip side of that there’s probably a lot of people out there that don’t enjoy watching the Broncos play.”
Despite a disappointing year, somehow, the Broncos still have a finals pulse.
They’ll need to win their remaining three games and hope other results fall their way though.
Walters says there’s still hope amongst the playing group that a top eight spot is possible.
“All we can control is what we can do and we just need to play well,” Walters said.
“Look, it’s not ideal (being in 10th spot on the ladder), but there are still opportunities for us to progress through.
“I know there’s a lot of knockers out there, but they’re knockers… we’ve got a strong team here, and a strong performance tomorrow night is what we’re looking forward to.”
Following Friday night’s game against the Eels, the Broncos face the Dolphins and Storm to finish off the regular season.
