There has been a latest report out on what was the biggest Chelsea news of last week, and it suggests that there has been some positive movements.
We were all invested in this story when it came out purely because it was so shocking really and very extreme.
Chelsea were reportedly freezing out an 18-year-old academy player and telling him he would not be playing for the club again, unless he signs a new deal. And to this date, he has still not signed said new deal, and he is not currently playing for Chelsea.
We are of course talking about young defender Josh Acheampong, who is apparently very highly rated by Chelsea. However, they are now not playing him purely because he is yet to agree on a new contract at the club.
It is very extreme, however which way you want to look at it.
Positive talks
Despite all of that, reporter Ben Jacobs has put out his latest info on the situation via GIVEMESPORT, and he is suggesting that positive talks have happened and the decision to freeze the player out was done amicably.
Jacobs wrote:
‘Chelsea have held positive talks with youngster Josh Acheampong over a new deal at Stamford Bridge but there is no agreement yet between the parties.
‘All parties currently remain calm about the situation and the decision was made amicably. It’s believed that the two parties were close to finding an agreement on terms three weeks ago, but there has been no progress since then.
‘Talks are ongoing and positive currently, with Chelsea rating the defender very highly and considering him to be a ‘top prospect with big potential’.
So there you have it, things sound as ‘amicable’ as they can be in such a tense situation according to this report.
