The Miami football program learned they have a 6 PM Eastern time kickoff for the home opener on September 7 versus Florida A&M on ACC Network Extra, a 3:30 PM kickoff against Ball State on September 14 on the ACC Network and a 7:30 ET kickoff versus Virginia Tech on ESPN on September 27.
Miami’s season opener at Florida on August 31 previously announced a 3:30 ET kickoff on ABC. Miami is playing Florida A&M for the first time since a 70-3 win in 2016. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series with the Rattlers 10-1. Miami has won all 10 games versus FAMU at home. FAMU beat Miami in Tallahassee in 1979.
After playing in 31 straight seasons, Miami and Virginia Tech will renew their rivalry in 2024 after not playing in 2023. Miami leads the all-time series versus Virginia Tech 25-15. Ball State at Miami on September 14 is the first meeting between the schools.
Miami’s game at South Florida on September 21 is the Hurricanes’ only game in the first month of the season without a kickoff time announced. Miami leads the all-time series with South Florida 5-1. The Hurricanes have defeated the Bulls in all three games played in Tampa.

The remainder of the ACC schedule will likely be announced throughout the season. There are 11 other games in week four when Miami plays at South Florida. North Carolina State at Clemson, Rutgers at Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech at Louisville, Cal at Florida State and Michigan State and Boston College are also in week four.
How the first three weeks of the 2024 season plays out will determine where the Miami at South Florida game is televised. USF finished 7-6 in 2023. Miami has one game on four different ESPN networks among the games announced. Miami will likely have games on ESPN2 and ESPNU this season.
