Miller Moss talks about Caleb Williams in an extensive interview, among other topics.
USC quarterback Miller Moss joined Adam Breneman on the latest episode of Next Up. In this exclusive interview, Miller Moss opens up about the adversity he’s faced throughout his time at USC and how he’s managed to overcome it. Miller Moss also talks about the challenge of replacing Caleb Williams, what it’s like playing quarterback for Lincoln Riley, his approach to leadership, how he navigates the bright lights of Hollywood, and much much more.
Moss was a breakout star in the Holiday Bowl against Louisville, but he has a lot to work on entering this season:
Yes, Miller Moss was great at throwing the ball quickly against Louisville. On many occasions, that will help him. However, what happens when early reads get taken away and the pocket breaks down? Quarterbacks do have to buy time sometimes. They do need to be able to stay with a play and either scramble or go through three or four progressions. Against big-time opponents, Moss — especially on 3rd and 5 or 2nd and 10 — will need to crack the code against a good defense. It won’t all happen by throwing quickly. Sometimes, he will need to let plays develop, as any good quarterback must.
