Chelsea are stepping up their preparations for the new season but are being forced to do so with several injury concerns.
The Blues are currently in the United States as part of their pre-season tour with new manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea recently claimed a victory over Club America in their latest friendly fixture of the summer.
Maresca and Co. will now be busy looking ahead to their next friendly of the tour across the Atlantic which comes against Manchester City on Saturday night. However, the Blues will be without some players for the fixture due to injury.
Malo Gusto
Malo Gusto suffered from cramp during Chelsea’s win over Club America on Wednesday night.
The right-back’s injury is not thought to be serious and there will be hope that he can feature against Man City later this week.
Potential return date: Manchester City (N) – August 3
Christopher Nkunku
Christopher Nkunku also suffered from cramp during the win over Club America and is not expected to be on the sidelines for very long.
The forward will hope to be involved once again when Chelsea face Man City on Saturday night.
Potential return date: Manchester City (N) – August 3
Benoit Badiashile
Benoit Badiashile was withdrawn during Chelsea’s win over Club America with cramp and replaced by Wesley Fofana.
The Blues will hope that the centre-back recovers quickly from the fitness issue to be able to feature against Man City this weekend.
Potential return date: Manchester City (N) – August 3
Nicolas Jackson
Nicolas Jackson is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered while featuring for Senegal earlier this summer.
The striker is with the Chelsea squad in the United States and the Blues will hope that he will be able to return to full team training next week.
Potential return date: Real Madrid (N) – August 6
Moises Caicedo
Moises Caicedo has been on the sidelines with injury throughout pre-season and is yet to feature under new manager Maresca.

Potential return date: Real Madrid (N) – August 6
Levi Colwill
Levi Colwill did not feature against Club America after playing in the first two friendlies during the tour of the US.

The centre-back has travelled to the US with the rest of the Chelsea squad but is yet to feature in any of the three friendlies so far or the matchday squad.
