Once again, Khalil Shakir is a pinball magician as he scores a touchdown.
Khalil Shakir is bouncing off defenders and scoring touchdowns.
Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Buffalo Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade. If it has to do with math, he covered it, from NFL playoff standings to salary cap analysis.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir came into the 2024 season opener as the only wide receiver still left on the team who had caught a Josh Allen pass. They’ve integrated him into the lineup, and he’s made two acrobatic plays against the Arizona Cardinals. It only adds to his legend.
On the two-minute drive before the end of the first half, Shakir moved the Bills into Cardinals territory by bouncing off a defender and gaining another 10 yards. The Bills ended up scoring on an Allen touchdown run to close the gap to 17-10 at halftime.
In the second half, Shakir didn’t bounce off as much as he bounced on a Cardinals defender, when he took a WR screen and landed on a would-be tackler, extending the ball up over his head for the go-ahead score.
NFL fans may remember Shakir doing this against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs a few months ago. He ducked under an arm tackle and juked his way into the end zone to push the game to the 31-17 final score.
It’s obvious that the Bills, offensive coordinator Joe Brady, and Josh Allen all trust Shakir and you can see why in these highlights.
