The New England Patriots started training camp with six players on either the active/PUP or non-football injury list (NFI), meaning they couldn’t get on the practice field.
However, on Sunday, two Patriots participated in a session for the first time this year – running backs Antonio Gibson (NFI) and Terrell Jennings (PUP). Later in the day, both players were activated from their respective lists.
Gibson, 26, signed a three-year contract with New England this offseason after playing out his rookie contract with the Washington Football Team/Commanders. He’s expected to play a significant role in the offense this year.
Jennings, 23, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent this year out of Florida A&M. He’s expected to fight for a practice squad spot with the team throughout training camp.
