The Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening game of the Western Conference Finals match-up, winning 108-105. Kyrie Irving was awesome early and Luka Doncic was heroic late. Following the game, Josh Bowe and I connected to discuss the pretty amazing come-from-behind victory.
We open the show referring back to our preview show, where Josh laid out the various challenges Dallas could have on offense and defense before laying out his prediction of a Gentleman’s sweep (4-1). Then we walk through the course of the game, leading with the Wolves shooting ridiculously well from behind the three-point line. Kyrie Irving kept the Mavericks in the game early, scoring 13 points in the first quarter and making an awesome basket to close out the half.

The second half the Mavericks kept coming, closing out better on the Minnesota three-point shots and keeping the Timberwolves out of the paint. Luka Doncic eventually took over and pushed past the Wolves incredible three-point shooting. P.J. Washington did a great job in this game as well, connecting on a corner three to help Dallas hold the lead.
Josh does a great job of explaining what the Mavericks did well and we talk about what the Mavericks could improve on. This was a fun show, we’re all believing in the Mavericks at this point.
