Aaron Rodgers makes revealing comments about Jets top receiving target
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Garrett Wilson have seemingly connected for big plays everyday at training camp and Saturday was no different.
In Practice No. 4, which was open to media and fans alike, Rodgers hit Wilson deep down the left sideline for a 45-yard touchdown pass during 11-on-11 team competition.
Earlier in the week, the future Hall-of-Fame field general and the dynamic WR1 hooked up on a field-flipping bomb on the first play of a possession starting at the offense’s 25-yard line.
“He’s hard to throw to honestly. He’s so damn fast,” said Rodgers in an NFL Network interview after Saturday’s practice in Florham Park. “I threw a ball to him that first play of practice on Wednesday. I threw it and I thought I maybe had overthrown him and he actually slowed down half-a-step. It’s takes some getting used to. He’s just so dynamic because he can go from zero to full speed so quickly.”
Rodgers and Wilson, who also hooked up on a short touchdown that the club shared on social media, were spotted having an intense conversation off to the side on Saturday. Both men passionately discussed the matter at hand, which apparently had to do with something that transpired earlier in practice.
“If we can get him to figure these little minor details, things are gonna take off,” said Rodgers. “We had a play today that In asked him to do something on a rep he wasn’t gonna get it. He didn’t realize at the time, but it was setting up a play later in practice where we had a similar look. And he comes back and he kind of got it. He’s in his third year. He’s gonna figure it out. He has all the skillsets. I mean he is as dynamic as I’ve ever been around.”
