Former Auburn great on Tigers’ offensive woes: ‘This is a quarterback problem’
Auburn’s offense, specifically its inability to take care of the ball, has been the Tigers’ downfall in their two losses this season.
Auburn turned the ball over a combined 10 times during its two losses and only scored 14 points in each of those games. Much of the conversation about the offense’s struggles has revolved around the quarterback play.

Both Payton Thorne and Hank Brown have started at quarterback for Auburn this season, and each had a game to forget. Despite the eight interceptions, between them though, one former Auburn player doesn’t think the problem rests solely on their shoulders.
“I wouldn’t sit here and try to make people believe that quarterback play has been good, it hasn’t. But this is not a quarterback problem,” Cole Cubelic said on the “Head-2-Head”
Cubelic pointed to a multitude of reasons when describing Auburn’s offensive issues in more depth.
He attributed many of the offense’s issues to poor blocking by the wide receivers and tight ends, along with the offensive line.
“It’s a collective offensive issue right now as to why they can’t continuously move the ball,” Cubelic said.
Despite the poor performances in the two losses, Auburn’s offense ranks 27th in the country in total yards per game and fifth in yards per completion.
Turnovers, though, have killed the Tigers as they rank last in the Southeastern Conference in turnover margin.
