The LSU Football team had a lighter injury report heading into this weekend’s game against South Alabama. That does have a caveat as LSU has lost Jacobian Guillory, Harold Perkins Jr, and John Emery Jr for the season thus far. Aside from the season ending injuries, LSU entered the pre-game pretty healthy for this game.
Heading into the game, the biggest questions injury-wise were about Wide Receiver Chris Hilton Jr and Cornerback Zy Alexander. Weeks was in a boot last weekend missing the game and Chris Hilton Jr was expected to return but, LSU decided to give him one more week as he recovers from Bone Bruises. Zy Alexander took a massive hit on the sideline and had to leave the game with a concussion.
Chris Hilton will miss the game once again which is bizarre given the fact that Brian Kelly said he’d be back last weekend and made it seem after the game they were giving him one more game off. There needs to be some questions about what’s going on with this injury as he’s seemingly been close to returning every week this year.
Zy Alexander has been arguably LSU’s best defensive back since his return from his ACL injury. Missing Zy Alexander for tonight’s game is a massive blow as he continues to deal with his concussion. In his absence we should see a ton of PJ Woodland, Jyaire Brown, and JK Johnson.
