Indiana Sports Corp has announced a new chapter in its leadership with the election of Rick Fuson as Chairman of the Board of Directors. According to Vaughn, the board’s collective dedication plays a vital role in advancing Indiana Sports Corp’s efforts to drive economic growth and enhance Indianapolis’ reputation through sports and major events.
In his professional capacity, Fuson oversees all operational and facility-related aspects of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. With more than three decades in the sports industry, he has been deeply involved in attracting and managing high-profile events for both Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the city of Indianapolis. His resume includes leadership roles in landmark events such as the 2012 Super Bowl, the FIBA World Basketball Championships, the Pan American Games, multiple NCAA Final Fours, and numerous Big Ten basketball tournaments. He also serves as the Founding Chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2021 NBA All-Star, underscoring his long-standing influence in sports event planning.
Expressing his excitement, Fuson reflected on his long relationship with Indiana Sports Corp, which began in the mid-1980s. He emphasized his appreciation for the organization’s impact on the community and its success in using sports as a catalyst for economic development. Fuson noted that the strategic vision established decades ago continues to deliver significant benefits for both the city and the state, and he looks forward to building on that legacy alongside fellow board members and community partners.
Jennifer Pope Baker also brings extensive experience to her new role as Vice Chair. Under her leadership, the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana has grown into a leading authority on issues affecting women and girls, with a strong focus on economic stability and opportunity.
