The Minnesota Vikings will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10 and while the Jaguars won’t have starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence available (shoulder), it appears that backup Mac Jones will have his top targets in the passing game. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Jaguars wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis are both expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Vikings after both were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
Thomas Jr. was dealing with a chest injury but got in three limited practices during the week, paving the way for him to play on Sunday. Davis also had three limited practices due to a shoulder injury but the veteran serves as Jacksonville’s deep threat. His first season with the Jaguars hasn’t gone well, however, as he has 18 catches for 217 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. Davis also missed last week’s game against the Eagles due to the injury.
The good news for the Vikings is that this isn’t exactly Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, who made last-minute arrivals in Minnesota’s Week 8 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. And swapping Jones in for Lawrence, who is dealing with a shoulder injury and may miss the rest of the season, could throw some water on a Jaguars offense that ranks 17th with 207.2 passing yards per game. It’s why the Vikings are favored by a touchdown in Sunday’s game, which kicks off at EverBank Field in Jacksonville at noon CT.
